My best friend yelled at me for not having a first of the month post yesterday… I meant to, but I have so little time to do anything recently.

TODAY is my SuperStarSkater, best friend Hillary’s 20th birthday!! She’s no longer a teenager! It seems so insane how we’re getting so old… I mean, people our age are married already. WHAT. I really don’t like growing up.

I’m babysitting like crazy the next few days, for two different families. The kids I usually watch overnight, J & C, have a friend W, who is also my neighbor, and his mom wants me to watch him overnight now too.

This coming Tuesday, October 6th, is my roommate Eliesa’s 19th birthday. I’m exactly a month older than her, how weird is that?

October 15th-18th is fall break. I guess that means we’re halfway through the semester? Not sure on that one, since none of my professors are using the term “midterms”, nor do I have any exams coming up before fall break. I was going to go with my family to New Jersey and DC for that time, then decided to stay home and throw a combined birthday/early Halloween party with Eliesa… but we canceled the party due to lack of funds. So now I guess I’ll be sleeping through break or something.

October 27th is my momma’s 46th birthday. She’s so old. Hahaha… LOVE YOU MOM!

October 30th-November 1st I’ll be in Tulsa. My aunt and uncle are in the process of organizing/touching up their house with the anticipation of putting it on the market, because the ghetto is rapidly creeping up on their neighborhood. The house is too small for their family now anyway, and it won’t be hard to sell it, but getting it ready while dealing with six kids is rough… so Mother Dear and I are heading down there at least once a month to help out. We’re pros at navigating the real estate market by now.

Happy October, and hello fall!!

I’m not in the mood to do a typical first of the month post… so I’m going to tell you why I LOVE September instead.

My birthday. DUH. September 6th. This Sunday. If you don’t wish me happy birthday on the phone, Facebook, Twitter, whatever, I’m going to hunt you down and kill you. Just kidding… or am I? (I’m turning 19, in case you weren’t keeping track.)

You’re already adjusted back at school. Well, those of us in the Midwest are.

Labor Day = a day off school. I have three classes on MWF, one on TR. Labor Day is on a Monday. I totally did that on purpose.

The weather is phenomenal. The leaves start to change, the temperature drops (although it did that already like two weeks ago… no days higher than 80 in late August in Kansas… YES PLEASE!) and you want to spend every waking minute either outside or with your windows wide open. This is also a pro because it forces you to actually get to know those damn neighbors that cause commotion outside 24/7.

I’m 99.9% there are more, but that’s all I can think of off the top of my head, and I am EXHAUSTED.

The only reason I dislike September, really just fall in general? MY ALLERGIES GO BANANAS. I’ve been dying every morning in class for a week now. I’m fairly certain my classmates think I either 1) have swine flu with the amount of coughing/sniffing I’ve been doing or 2) am hungover with how bloodshot my eyes are after I wake up.

YAY SEPTEMBER, I LOVE YOU!!!!

This will be my FIRST SCHEDULED POST EVER because of…

August 1st-9th~ Vacation on the Outer Banks in North Carolina, yayayayay! Will, Will’s friend Chase, and my Dad are flying; my momma and I are driving out there with Arabella, because I want to have a car and I’m too young to drive a rental car. There’s a great possibility you’ll see a woman walking along the side of the road somewhere around Kentucky due to her DRIVING ME INSANE.

August 14th~ MY TWO BEST FRIENDS MOVE INTO THE DORMS! Well, I know Len moves in that day, and TK I’m not sure since she’s technically in the private dorm… but they’re both rushing so they have to be moved in by then. I’m soooooooo happy they’re finally at KU with me!

August 18th/August 20th~ Both are the beginning of FALL SEMESTER CLASSES. What the helllllllll. If I ever talk about taking summer classes again, someone please punch me in the face. This semester I’m taking two Psych classes, half of a Psych class (this orientation thingy required for the Psych major that’s only one credit), Western Civ, and Child Development. Grand total of 13 hours.

August 28th-30th~ We’re heading up to Chicago for my cousin Hannah’s moving-in date for her first year of college. I’m sure she’s so enthused with the idea of half her extended family driving all the way up there just to help her unpack. My mom is being annoying with wanting to go back to Chicago though, so give her any excuse to go and she’ll take it.

Happy August!

I feel slightly guilty for neglecting my blog for an entire week. To be fair, though, our family reunion just wasn’t that exciting, and I haven’t had any good stories to tell. Now it’s already July of 2009; another shocking reminder that time moves forward at the same speed and getting older is inevitable.

July 3rd-5th~ For the Fourth of July weekend, there are two plans happening. One, I believe my godmother, her husband and little two-year-old Anja are coming out here from St. Louis; that’s still up in the air, due to my godmother being ten weeks pregnant. Two, my Tulsa cousins want me to go down there for the weekend. I saw them a week ago in Maine, but they’re awesome and I miss them already, so if I can find someone to come with me, that’s probably the path I’ll take.

July 23rd~ My last day of summer classes. =) I can’t believe that’s in twenty-two days… THANK GOD. While I’ll be happy to get a math class and my only required speech class out of the way, I don’t believe I’ll ever take summer classes again. I miss sleeping in waaaaaaaay too much.

July 31st~ Will’s fifteenth birthday. My baby brother turns fifteen. This makes me feel SO ridiculously old.

Exactly a year ago, I began my “first of the month” posts.

CRAZY.

June 1st~ Summer classes began today. I’m taking Public Speaking (COMS 130 at KU, which is required for every degree) and College Algebra. I could technically get into Precalc, Calc, etc, but we have to take two math courses to graduate, and there is NO WAY IN HELL I’m taking Calc. To avoid this, I’m going down a level. Brilliant, no? Oh yeah, and I ALREADY HAVE HOMEWORK. So not cool.

June 2nd~ The first day of watching E and K! They’re the two girls I’m pretty much chauffering all summer, ages thirteen and ten. Lots of swimming, shopping, and finding ways to kill time.

June 5th~ MOVING DAYYYY!!!!! Eliesa and I are moving out to Johnson County. (Well, she’s already been living there for the past six months.) It’ll be kind of weird, since the only Kansas town I’ve ever lived in is Lawrence. Except for Topeka Scary-Ghetto-Land for eight months, but that doesn’t count. And I don’t go around telling people about that!

June 8th~ I start taking figure skating lessons again with my coach. I haven’t had a lesson with Jamie in over a year, since before I quit. I’ve lost some things but gained other things so hopefully she won’t kill me!

June 23rd-28th~ Our family reunion in Maine!! My parents and Will are in Germany for two weeks before that, so I’m flying out by myself. The Tulsa relatives I think are getting there a day or two before me, then everyone else is coming and going. We’ll get to meet our four-month-old cousin from California! OH MY GOSH I WILL HAVE SO MANY PICTURES.

Happy June!
